Two timelines of greatness
Zelda rankings are really two lists spliced together: the structured classics (Ocarina, Majora, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess) and the open-air era (Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom). Purists dock BotW for dungeon-lite design; newcomers can't go back to hookshot checklists at all. The 2D line quietly produces the most consensus — A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening rarely leave A tier on anyone's list. Majora's Mask remains the great polarizer: masterpiece of mood or three-day timer anxiety simulator.
